Lost that Lovin’ Feelin’?

After years of struggling with arousal problems, Richard has decided that sex is just for young people. He hates the pressure Jane puts on him to continue lovemaking now that they are pushing sixty.

Bryson is troubled about his sexual performance, and both he and Shay are frustrated they’ve been unable to connect as fully as they would like.

Ebony was sexually molested by a cousin as a young girl. Even innocent sexual request from her Joseph trigger painful feelings and memories and she is unable to continue in their lovemaking session.

How is the sexual part of your marriage?

Is sex something you openly and honestly discuss with your spouse or is i too “worldly”, and something simply to be endured (or avoided)?

Sexual intimacy is part of God’s beautiful design for marriage, one of His great avenues for enhancing oneness in marriage. It is also a reflection of the interrelatedness and unity of the Godhead. A meaningful sex life is part of God’s intent for your marriage and fighting for it is a hill worthy dying on!

Couples should regularly drink, and drink deeply, from the fountain of their marital lovemaking, rejoicing and being captivated in each other’s love (1 Corinthians 7:3,5; Proverbs 5:15-19).

Does this describe your sex life?

As we cultivate the physical, emotional, and spiritual aspects of our lovemaking, we are working to build a hedge of protection around our marital union. Affairs, pornography, extreme inhibitions and other sexual distortions are often used by Satan to destroy marriages. He also moves like a covert terrorist, tempting and destroying marriages by subtly encouraging them to drift apart.

Resist him!

Bring back that lovin’ feelin’ before it’s gone…gone…gone…

Common Barriers to Sexual Intimacy:

  • Unwanted Sexual Attractions
  • Pornography Use
