From the mundane to the profound, we’re faced with one choice after the next throughout life. While many we don’t give a second thought, others we know are weighty and must be given their due diligence.  But in all things we must seek the glory of God.

What we have for dinner, who we vote for, the jobs we hold, and the relationships we pursue all have different meanings and levels of importance.

And in making decisions it’s important to consider how much it will matter later. This helps us to hold a proper perspective on the issues.

And because there’s not always one right answer to the choices we face, we must also make our decisions in faith – fully convinced that God is with us.

And it’s here that we also seek to glorify him in all that we do and in every decision we make.

How does this next decision advance his kingdom and magnify love for all?

Often our decisions focus on pushing our own agenda and keeping ourselves happy and comfortable. Or perhaps we believe we’re taking the high road by trying to keep others happy and simply appeasing them.

But both of these approaches fall short of the standard God has called us to.

There’s great freedom in the choices we make. But this freedom is not absolute and must be exercised within the practice of love.

Love remains our standard throughout life – whether we’re eating, voting, working, or the like. Everything we do is focused on bringing more life and love into the world.

And we miss God’s best when we don’t consciously seek love and become love.

Whether big or small, don’t remain thoughtless and shortsighted. Seek love and the glory of God in all things.
