My mother’s love was there before I took my first breath

Before I was fully formed, her love surrounded me

She loved me long before I could speak or call her name

When I needed her to feed me or rock me to sleep, her love was there

I was helpless, but the power of her love cared for me

Her love showed me there was good in the world

There was a place I could rest and find peace

A place I would be accepted unconditionally

Her love taught me being right was not the same as being good

Sometimes it was more important to care for others than to prove my point

Love sacrifices for the good of the other

This is my mother’s love

In body and soul she sacrificed for me

Her enduring love made me the man I am today

I thank God for my mother’s love
