There are many unknowns as the story of our life unfolds. But as we look back, we see God perfectly orchestrated the events of our life for good. Hindsight is 20/20 – many times our understanding comes later.
We’re often filled with many doubts and questions when we don’t know how things are going to play out.
And this is part of the drama of living. We’re filled with deep desires that are often outside of our ability to control and make happen.
But time and again, as we learn to trust God, we look back and realize things worked out much better than we could’ve ever planned or predicted.
With the benefit of 20/20 hindsight, we see God’s perfect wisdom displayed for our good and we’re reminded of his faithfulness toward us.
And certainly it’s easy to praise God for his goodness once we see how he works everything out. One of our biggest challenges is to trust even before we see the end.
This is the life of faith – to trust in the goodness of God even when we don’t have perfect understanding.
He has proven his faithfulness throughout our life. We can readily look back and see the many times he has come through on our behalf.
But we forget and our faith must be exercised again.
Keeping a record of God’s faithfulness in our own story helps us to remember the next time we’re faced with the unknowns of life.
It’s easier to trust as we recall all the times he has personally come through for us in the past.
Hindsight is 20/20. And while we can’t live our life backwards, by faith we can remember and trust in God’s ability to perfectly work things out for our good.
Everything will make sense in time. But meanwhile, remember to trust in God’s history of goodness.
