Some days it’s easy to forget

We wake and the memory is gone

A truth fades as we slip on our familiar masks

Of expectations – The Me Other People Want Me to Be

And of comparisons – The Me I Think I Should Be

Sometimes, we remember

A faint memory of something – of someone more

But like the morning fog

The thought quickly disappears

Our daily demands scorching

The cloudy thoughts of

The Me I am Meant to Be

But we must remember

We must not forget

Who is the Me I am Meant to Be?

Remember

And do not forget
