Life is filled with much uncertainty and wisdom is needed at every turn. Our inner wise man provides deep insights and guides us in seeing with a balanced perspective.

To be sure, some wisdom is needed in discerning between the good and the bad.

But, in many respects, this distinction is already clear. We simply need the courage of our inner warrior to follow through on what we already know is true.

On the other hand, deep wisdom is called for in discerning between two good paths. We need wisdom when there is no one right answer to the many challenges of life.

For instance, it’s easy to get ahead of ourselves and rush to fight every battle that comes our way. Fools rush in. But not every battle is ours to fight and wisdom reminds us to stay in our lane.

Without wisdom, we might fall victim to engaging in many good things while neglecting to do what God has personally called us to.

Likewise, our emotions can easily blind us to the next right choice. While emotions alert us to many important realities, we still need wisdom to guide us – sorting through our often intense and conflicting emotions.

Wisdom also allows us to sit with and contemplate the deep questions of life.

In an age of sound bites and quick fixes, the wise man knows there is more to be understood and the cost of ignorance is too high. He is in no rush as he plunges into the mysteries of life and seeks to bring out life giving insights for all.

While a little knowledge can make us feel self-important and prideful, denying our inner wisdom in false humility does not serve anyone either.

Let your inner wise man guide you through the messy realities of life and relationships.
