We each have our own ups and downs of emotions. And many times our mood is directly influenced by the choices we make. But at other times there is more going on than what meets the eye and we must remain aware of the spiritual forces of evil also at work in our lives.
We rightly take responsibility for much of what we experience in our life.
But sometimes this self-blame plays right into the hand of the thief of goodness. And we waste our strength beating our own selves up rather than recognizing there are other spiritual forces at play for us to fight against.
Of course, life comes with its normal levels of fears and concerns. But we might be dealing with spiritual forces of evil when anxiety, worry, and pending dread get the best of us at every turn.
When everything is dark, gloomy, and grim, there’s probably more at play than our own emotional ups and downs.
For instance, we all want our families to come home safe at night. But the thief of goodness is likely at work when we become completely obsessed with their safety.
And while we might need to work through our issues with control, it’s also possible evil is using this as an opportunity to steal, kill, and destroy the goodness and life God has for us.
Others might even choose not to get married or have kids because all they see is a world of increasing darkness. And while we each have our own callings here, evil is generally close by when this decision comes from fear and dread rather than faithful stewardship.
When we have the eyes to see we can be wise in putting on the whole armor of God and standing against the cunning schemes of the evil one. Self-blame, defeat, and increased darkness is the result otherwise.
Learn to see the unseen and don’t let the spiritual forces of evil take you out. Accept the natural ups and downs of life without losing hope, and always doing your part to bring more life and goodness into the world.
