Talk is cheap unless it’s backed by actions. But merely going through the motions also only goes so far unless it flows from our true heart. Eventually our life will bear the fruit of what’s really in our hearts.

The fruit of a tree reveals its true identity. It doesn’t matter what we call an apple tree or if apples are currently trending in society. At the end of the day, an apple tree will produce apples.

Often we concern ourselves with saying the right things. And certainly our words matter and should not be taken lightly.

But how we treat others is more important than ensuring our words meet public approval.

Even still, our well-polished actions remain shallow if they don’t also flow from our deep heart.

On the receiving end we might care little if acts of kindness actually come from the goodness of another’s heart.

But we’re certainly called to a higher standard on the giving end.

More than right words and even right action – we’re called to become men with good hearts.

And when our heart is good we don’t have to worry as much about our words and actions.

This doesn’t mean we become careless. But rather we can live with greater ease as all our life flows from a heart being transformed for good.

Like the tree, our words and actions flow from the depth of our being. And eventually our true identity will be revealed even through our many masks.

This frees us from walking on eggshells in trying not to offend others as our true heart is already for their good.

Likewise, we have no need to defend ourselves because the fruit of our heart will speak for us.

Consider carefully your words and actions. But let these overflow from the goodness of your heart.
