We’re so close we can almost taste it. But our time has not yet arrived. We must wait patiently even as we eagerly anticipate all the good God has in store for us.

Like expecting parents, we might know the fulfillment of our desires is close at hand.

Perhaps our work is on the verge of a breakthrough or a relationship is finally turning the corner of desired change.

Whatever the situation, we sense our night of waiting is passing and the dawn of our desires is breaking through.

But as we live with great expectations, we must continue to live with patient endurance.

However close we are to the finish line we must still live by faith.

It’s God who has brought us this far. And it’s God who will allow us to experience the fulfillment of our hopes and desires. We don’t have to try to cross the finish line in our own strength.

While it’s hard to wait after we’ve already been waiting for so long, we remember to trust God’s perfect timing.

A cake is done when it is done. And we miss its full deliciousness if we pull it out too soon, even if the aroma is filling the house.

Don’t run ahead of God as the aroma of your desires start to fill in your life.

Learn to enjoy the eager anticipation as you continue to wait patiently.

God has good in store for you and he has not forgotten.

At just the right time he will birth the fulfillment of your hopes and desires.

In the meantime, just breathe and continue to wait with a patient eagerness on him.
