Some things are easier said than done. And it’s hard not to be anxious when the demands of life take us to our edge. And yet God’s peace is available when we remember to take all our concerns to him and remain grateful for all he has done.

Life is filled with many demands and responsibilities. And, to be sure, this is part of what makes it fun and meaningful. There’s joy in coming through for others and making an impact for good.

But this also comes with much stress. And we often wonder if we have what it takes.

We’re quickly taken to our edge as we try to keep up with unending bills and unexpected expenses, job changes and fluctuations in health, caring for a family in need and simply wanting to be fully present to celebrate the many milestones of life.

This list can go on and on.

But beneath it all is our desire to offer our strength and presence to those in our life. And also the fear we will come up short and not be enough.

This leads us to worry.

We become anxious about our abilities and this eventually robs us of our peace and ability to faithfully show up.

The path back to peace is through prayer and petition. We pray about everything and bring our heartfelt requests to God. And we do this in a spirit of gratitude for all he has already done.

Our growing anxiety is often traced back to being disconnected from God and attempting to do life apart from him.

Life will have its moments of stress and concern. But there’s no need to fret.

Be anxious for nothing – telling God what you need and trusting the outcome to him.
