Death comes to us all. But unfortunately the fear of death keeps many from living life to the full. Yet Christ has conquered death and has freed us to live life fully.

We don’t have to look far to see the many tragedies and heartaches that mark our days. And naturally we want to avoid what we can.

It’s foolish to invite unnecessary suffering into our life. And God has given us the ability to make wise choices and not subject ourselves to the harm of reckless risks.

At the same time, he hasn’t given us a spirit of fear – causing us to play it safe and not take reasonable risks.

The life of faith is a life of courage.

While our path is unpredictable and dangerous, we live by faith trusting God’s story ends well even if our particular smaller story is filled with much tragedy.

And it’s this faithful courage that allows us to live life fully.

The thief of goodness seeks to rob us of the abundant life Christ came to give. And perhaps fear is one of his most common tactics.

We feed on fear and a life of caution appears wise. But it’s like a poison that tastes sweet yet ends in death. Without realizing it fear slowly kills our inner vitality and sense of purpose in life.

We’re tricked into believing the only thing that matters is our continued physical existence and we forget the larger story God is telling.

In the end, we become more concerned about avoiding death that we don’t live a life full of faith, hope, and love.

But as Christ taught – the more we try to hold on to our life, the more we actually lose it. But as we’re willing to give it up for his sake, we actually find it.

Don’t let fear rob you of all that God has for you. Take wisdom with you, but live life fully.
