God spoke and the world came into existence. And he has given us the ability to make things happen through the power of our words as well. Our words bring life and our silence leaves things undone.

In such a loud world with many competing voices, it’s easy to assume our voice doesn’t matter much. We may even fear our voice will only bring greater disruption rather than peace.

It’s true silence is golden, sometimes.

When we are quick to speak and slow to listen, our words can bring more disorder and chaos. A moment of silence can bring needed clarity to respond wisely.

However, many other times our silence is costly. Things remain undone when our creative voice is not offered.

For instance, the good we want to see in the world is never realized until we can name it and call it into existence. Our voice activates the creative energy needed to make this goodness a reality.

Likewise, relational silence leaves many doubts and insecurities to fester, and the deep intimate connection available is never realized. We must speak into relational voids in order to move our relationships toward their highest good.

Our voice has the power to bring much goodness into our life and relationships. When we remain silent we suffer along with those around us.

Don’t leave things undone. Let your voice disrupt the status quo of chaotic nothingness and call into existence more life and beauty. This blesses everyone.

Your voice is needed.

Your voice matters.

Speak.
